ENDURANCE: becoming a talent.

Hello there! Welcome to another session with Ola. There is this story I was once told about a man who got married to an illiterate. After the ceremony, he told his wife to go say “thank you for coming, we are grateful” to the guests who came to celebrate with them. She did, but she only said “thank you for coming, we are grate”, so when the husband ask what she said, and she told him, the husband corrected her. Then she decided to go make amends, and so she went telling the guests; ” I said, “thank you for coming, we are grate” the other time, am here to add “full” to it”. Lol.

I hope that made you laugh. Unlike the illiterate, am saying “thank you for your visits, am grateful for the comments, likes and shares”. And to our new visitors, thank you too. I hope this read will bring you back some other time.

Today’s topic is very sensitive; have heard people talk about talent in manners that seem others are not capable of being a talent. And this got me asking what is talent?

My dictionary defined talent as a marked natural ability or skill. Now that is interesting, because that dictionary said “natural “. Which means there are some talents that are not natural? So what makes a talent natural? And how does one become talented?

First of, what it takes to be a talent is how well the mind gathers detailed information about a particular engagement. The level of detailing is one of the criteria that differentiate a smart kid from those we refer to as dull. These differences is due to our distractions; aside that, everyone on earth is talented.

Thomas Edison was tagged unteachable but ahead of others who were tagged teachable, he became a generation influencer. Likewise Dr Ben Carson was once called dulled until his mother made him focus his mind on education. Hence, nobody is dull if channelled properly. If the soul is not groomed in a peaceful and loving environment, it will affect the way the mind focuses. Likewise, it is hard for the mind to gather detailed information about a knowledge that does not interest the person.

Did you notice that, nobody teaches a child how to speak? And when you’re grown, the language you learnt while you were a baby is always more natural and fluent than the ones you learnt when you grew up. It is simply because, the mind is a lot calmer when you were a baby. As at then, the mind is not distracted with too much information about life hence, there is no tension in the soul.

Becoming a talent is a thing of the soul; and the language of the soul is the language of love. That is what keeps everyone of us going. Also, if you have being following this blog, I said something about being natural when we discussed the philosophy of endurance. There, I spoke about “time” as the yard stick for being natural. But with regards to humans, because we are emotional beings, the condition with which the soul is while gathering information matters a whole lot.

The soul needs to be in a calm state like I said earlier and not under pressure. This was what changed the life of Thomas Edison and Dr Ben Carson. Their mothers did not put pressure on them, rather they found a way to gradually make them pay attention to what needs to be done. This is the best way to make the soul gather knowledge. And after the soul has gathered enough information, then it starts to show traits of it.

I spoke about how the knowledge in the soul grows from our subconsciousness to our consciousness i.e from subconscious to awareness and then to consciousness. But awareness is divided into two stages which is the subconscious awareness and then conscious awareness. That is how every single knowledge grows within the soul. But for a particular knowledge to make you a talent, the soul and mind must be in a proper state, then that knowledge or engagement must catch the attention of the soul, and when the information about such knowledge is detailed in the soul, then the soul becomes aware of it and the traits of excellence about such knowledge is relayed through the body. This is when we begin to say the kid is talented.

And if such child is not distracted and his soul is not pressured; if he gradually continue to engage physically through practice with a mindset to learn more about such knowledge, he is going to become a phenomenon. His body is going to gradually adapt to it such that executing such knowledge will seem natural to the eye.

What kills talent is the distraction of showing off, the pressure to use the talent to make money or pay bills, or the soul being distracted by some other knowledge or engagement. It is the gradual practice that keeps the soul in a natural state which helps usher that knowledge from the awareness state to the conscious state, that is how the talent finds natural expression.

This is where we draw the curtain today. I hope the writeup isn’t a waste of your time? Please do not forget to share this page on your social media pages. Let’s spread knowledge, we do not know who might be in need of it so desperately. Until the next time I will welcome you here, do have the best of moments. Ciao!
